Carla Ann Forister, 75, of Cheyenne, passed away Thursday, June 1, after a long battle with cancer.

Carla was born Dec. 22, 1947, in McAllen, Texas, to Carl and Leona Davidshofer. She grew up in White Clay, Nebraska, and the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

She considered Evanston home, and she worked as a nurse for the Wyoming State Hospital and several private companies. She loved working with her clients, most of whom were developmentally disabled. “Nurse Carla” was equally adored by her clients.

Carla’s greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. She raised her two sons to be generally decent human beings by teaching them her strong values: integrity, hard work, generosity, a bad sense of humor and being a good neighbor.

Carla is preceded in death by her parents; and former husbands, Roy Paul, Dennis Sundberg and Dennis Forester. She is survived by her sons, Ed Paul of Cheyenne; and Chris (Sarah) Sundberg of Dallas; grandchildren, Krystal Paul of Pocatello, Idaho; Mikel Paul of Salt Lake City; Jacob Paul of Cheyenne; and Virginia and Margaret Sundberg of Dallas.

No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, please do a kind deed for a friend, neighbor or stranger.
