The City of Evanston hosts spring cleanup at 591 Union Rd. Drop off yard waste, including tree branches and leaves; metals, dishwashers, aluminum, steel, general and big household debris, furniture and carpet. May 18 only is household hazardous waste day. Drop off from 8 a.m. 8 p.m.

The task force meets every 3rd Wednesday of each month at Uinta BOCES No. 1 in room 304 at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is invited and welcome to attend.

Brown Bag Thursday
The Uinta County Museum’s Brown Bag Thursday returns with Dudley Gardner discussing the labor laws and the Wyoming Constitution as it pertains to the Chinese workers of Almy. Held at the Beeman-Cashin building from noon to 1 p.m. Free of charge, bring your own lunch. Pop and water will be provided by the Museum. Any questions contact 307-789-8248.

Library Quilt Show
The 19th Annual Library Quilt Show begins Saturday, May 18. This program will be from 1-2 p.m. This year features Lila Mohler who will discuss 50 years of quilting experiences. Yard Waste Collection
Every Monday beginning in April through Oct. 28, yard waste collection site is open at 591 Union Road from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. Residents haul to the site. The city will only collect yard waste, nothing treated. Trees, limbs, leaves, garden waste, grass clippings and shrubs are acceptable. Compost and wood chips are available for sale. One yard minimum sale for $40 for cubic yard of compost, or $30 for cubic yard of wood chips. $20 curbside delivery per load available within city limits. Join the Evanston Historic Preservation Commission for an open house for Union Pacific Steam Engine 4420 in honor of National Preservation Month.
