William “Bill” Edward Gerber, born Jan. 19, 1957, passed away Friday, April 10, after a courageous battle, peacefully in his home, surrounded by family.
He was born to Donald E. Gerber and Marion P. Gerber of Salt Lake City, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Bruce E. Gerber of Grand Junction, Colorado, Robert F. Gerber of Evanston and Amanda R. Gerber of Evanston; seven grandchildren; brothers, Douglas C. (Julie) Gerber of Salt Lake City, and Richard E. (Cindy) Gerber of Salt Lake City; along with uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bill was a great friend to many. He will surely be missed by all. He was an ordained elder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a love of music, particularly ZZ Top, and he loved playing drums. He was also an exceptionally skilled truck driver of over 30 years. It was a passion that he did with dedication, pride and honor.
Special thanks to Dr. Larry W. Kraiss at the University of Utah, Cowboy Cares and its staff, Members of the Evanston LDS 5th Ward, Jody’s Diner and staff and Crandall Funeral Home.
