Tony Kay Lovato passed away Monday, Feb. 7, age 52, peacefully, at his home in Evanston, with his devoted wife by his side, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Tony was born in Evanston to Flavio Lovato and Janice Faulkner on Aug. 9, 1969.
Tony served in the National Guard from 1989-1997.
Tony married the love of his life, Rebecca Dean, on Aug. 12, 2000, in Evanston. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on July 20, 2007.
Tony was a humble and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, through which he had many opportunities to serve. Serving as a primary teacher was his favorite.
Tony worked various jobs; the last job was for Union Tank for the past seven years, where he was loved dearly.
Tony was an avid lover of music — heavy metal being his genre of choice. He attended all the concerts he could, taking Kenyon with him. He loved collecting all his favorite bands’ CDs and patches.
Spending time with his family was important to Tony. Last year was their last family trip to the coast and the Redwood Forest. This was very special for them all.
The family would like to thank Cowboy Care for their compassion, along with all the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Huntsman center.
Also, a special thanks to the Uinta View Ward and Union Tank for their kindness during Tony’s illness.
Tony is preceded in death by his father, Flavio Lovato; brother, Mike Lovato; mother-in-law, Shelia Dean; grandparents, David Lovato, Mary Lovato/Gutierrez and Adam Gutierrez, and Gladyce Clark and William Faulkner Jr.
Tony is survived by his wife of 21 years, Rebecca Dean Lovato; sons Kenyon and Anthony; daughters, Angela Bateman and Brooklyn Lovato; mother, Janice Lovato; brother, Rocky Lovato (Mike); brother, Troy Lovato (Andrea); sister, Tina Lovato; eight nephews; five nieces; three grand-nephews; and three grand-nieces, along with loved aunts and uncles.
