Our beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, Terry Lynn Porter, passed away Jan. 3, in Centerfield, Utah, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Terry was born May 9, 1950, in Coalville, Utah, to Curt and Luella Ellingford. She graduated from Evanston High School in 1968, and briefly attended college in Salt Lake City, where she studied to become a dental hygienist.
However, Terry’s true calling was as a homemaker.
She married Darrell Porter, her high school sweetheart, on Jan. 4, 1969, in Evanston.
Terry took great pride in creating a warm and loving home for her family. Her home was always clean and tidy, and her husband and children never lacked for clean clothes or a delicious home-cooked meal.
Terry was a devout Christian woman whose faith in the Lord never wavered, even in the face of health challenges. Her family takes solace in knowing that she is now rejoicing in heaven with her Heavenly Father.
Terry is survived by her beloved husband; children: Ryan (Torrie) Porter, Lisa (Mike) Crane and NiCole (Ron) Bayless; even grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Terry is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Kathy Aaron and Linda Porter; nieces and nephews: Dannielle Aaron, Melissa Porter, Mark and Justin Porter.
A celebration of life to honor her memory will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, at Crossroads Newlife Fellowship in Evanston. Graveside services to follow.
