Robert D. Stewart was born on June 2, 1947, to Robert Stewart and Naydean Babcock. He married Betty Jo Lyons on April 30, 1972, in Washoe County, Nevada.
Robert held degrees from the University of Utah and Weber State University. A 24-year USAF veteran, he served as a pararescue man in Vietnam. He enlisted in 1968 and retired as captain in 1988. After the Air Force, he was employed as a paramedic and a machinist.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and Scouting activities with his sons and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Stewart; sons, Brett and Bryan Stewart; grandchildren, Riley, Dallas, MaryLynn and Robert Stewart.
He is preceded in death by his son, Dean Stewart; and parents, Robert and Naydean.
Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 26, at Crandall Funeral Home, 800 Uinta St. in Evanston. A viewing will be at noon, with a service at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in Evanston City Cemetery.
