Randy Martin, 74, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024.
Randy was born May 24, 1950, to Richard K. and Lucille (Clark) Martin in Coalville, Utah. United in marriage June of 2000 to Joan Elizabeth Bennett; Decatur, Texas, is where they lived.
Randy graduated from Evanston High School in 1970. He also served in the U.S. Army. He worked for Kiewit Construction for 47 years, mostly in Wyoming and Texas.
He enjoyed working with his horses and cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lucille Martin; son, Justin Martin; an infant son, Dustin; brother, Dee Martin; and brother-in-law, Richard Cox.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joan Bennett Martin of Decatur, Texas; son, Chancey Martin (fiancé Angie Niggemeye) of Arlington, Texas; stepdaughter, Julie Butler (Damon) of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Peyton and Parker Overton; great-grandchildren, Amelia and Agali Overton; his brothers, Jeff Martin and Clark Martin (Jeri) of Evanston; and Garth Martin (Lori) Corvallis of Montana; sister, Kathy Cox of Anchorage, Alaska; and daughter-in-law, Karen Martin of Texas.
A funeral was Monday, Jan. 6, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur, Texas, with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
