Michael Lyn Gottfried, born on Feb. 24, 1969, passed away on March 28, 2025, leaving a lasting legacy defined by his resolute nature, strong principles and generosity. Known for always being ready to lend a helping hand, Mike’s life was a testament to selflessness and compassion.
He cherished the great outdoors and found profound joy in hunting, fishing and boating — pursuits that allowed him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with the ones he loved.
Mike is survived by his loving father, Leonard Gottfried and Leonard’s beloved wife, Lori Gottfried; his devoted wife, Debbie Gottfried; and his cherished siblings, Tony Gottfried and his wife Casey Gottfried; Monica Smith, Deborah Carter, James Wilkes and Raymond Scott.
His family extended to include his in-laws, Carol and Gary Bentley; his brothers-in-law, Pete Bentley and Bob Bentley. He is also survived by his daughters, Heather, Melonie, Michelle and Shyann; and his adored grandchildren, Mckalie, Kaisyn and Ari’anne.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Bob Gottfried; his mother, LaRonna Lawhon Gottfried; his grandparents, Ada Ruth Gottfried and Charles Melvin Gottfried; and his sister in-law, Shelley Putnam.
Mike’s steadfast character, unwavering principles, and willingness to help anyone in need will forever be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy endures in the memories and hearts of his family and friends, who will continue to honor his spirit and the values by which he lived.
