Matt Christopher Madia, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 25, at his home in Seattle.
Born July 8, 1966, in Evanston, Matt was the son of David and the late Patsy Madia. He graduated from Evanston High School in 1984, where he participated in football and swimming, and later earned his degree from Washington State University, serving as a team manager for the Cougar football program.
Matt made his home in Seattle after marrying Lynese in 1998. He relished being a father to his son, Macallister (Mac), and to his daughters, Kaylee Nebeker Akerly and Jordyn Nebeker. Matt was an amazing hands-on father. He loved family adventures, from Hawaii to the Pacific Northwest to road trips back home. He enjoyed boating on Lake Washington in his vintage 1959 boat and towing it with a matching ’62 Chevy Stepside he had long admired.
Matt built lasting friendships wherever he lived, especially with his childhood friends from Evanston. He cherished annual hunting trips near Cokeville and summer excursions in the Wind River Mountains.
Matt began his career by creating and operating his own company, Dr. Suds, where he installed and maintained draft systems across the Seattle area. He later continued his career with Anheuser Busch.
Matt will be remembered for his humor, endless curiosity, mechanical talent, love of animals, love of outdoors, and generous, joyful spirit.
He is survived by his wife, Lynese; children Kaylee, Jordyn and Mac; father, David; and siblings Mark, Tony, and his twin sister, Gina.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
