Kenneth Vernon returned to heaven to be with his wife, Shana, on Saturday, Jan. 20, in Evanston. He was born May 10, 1936, in Coalville, Utah, to Joe and Grace Vernon.

He married Shana Muir on Sept. 29,1954, in the Salt Lake Temple. Dad lived in Woodruff, Utah, most of his life, raising mink, hunting and trapping.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with his favorite calling being nursery leader.

A great part of his life included trapping, guiding and spending time on Deseret Land and Livestock.

Dad leaves behind three daughters, Kayleen (Rick) Argyle, Sandra (Doug) Matthews and Diane Johnson; and one son, Larry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shanna; son-in-law, Carl Johnson; grandson, Jeremy Matthews; and sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Jack Bell.

On Wednesday night, Jan. 24, there will be a viewing held from 6-8 p.m. at the Woodruff Ward Chapel. This will be followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25. The service will be preceded by a viewing, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Both will be held at the Woodruff Ward Chapel.

The family would like to thank the Rich County EMTs, Evanston Regional Hospital and Rocky Mountain Care for all of their help in caring for Dad. Special thanks to Greg at Crandall Funeral Home for his kindness and help.
