Kelly Jay Crompton

Kelly Jay Crompton passed away Oct. 13, at the University of Utah Medical Center. He was born March 2, 1955, in Ogden, Utah, to Clarence Don Crompton and Beatrice Gerrard Crompton.

Kelly enjoyed hunting, fishing and family reunions. He was interested in the old west and enjoyed camp cooking anytime he could.

Ranching was his passion though he worked at many other jobs. He grew up and remained on the family homestead that his great-grandfather settled.

Kelly is survived by his son, Calvin Jay “CJ” Crompton; stepchildren, Amber (Skyler) Schiffman and James Lawrence of Evanston; his sister, Peggy (Dennis) Peterson of Bozeman, Montana; Tristan (Maggie) Peterson family of Montana; Taron (Sara) Peterson family of Nebraska; niece, Tiffany (Brian McCall) Peterson of Alaska; and many family members in Wyoming, Utah and Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; mother, Beatrice; younger brother, Philip W. Crompton; and grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Nov. 3, at the LDS Church at 251 Elm St. in Evanston.

Final resting place will be at Evanston Cemetery.

Lunch will be served at the LDS church following the graveside.
