Irene Boynton Riggs

Irene Boynton Riggs, 85, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at her home in Fort Bridger.

She was born in Manila, Utah, to Edwin B. and Helen Louise Warby Boynton, on May 17, 1935. She married Warren L. Riggs on Aug. 18, 1953, in Rock Springs.

Irene loved to read books, watch crime TV shows, go camping and attend chorus. She was known for “cooking for an army” and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Irene is survived by her children, Darold Riggs, Sherri Lynn Fanning, Kevin Riggs and Carol Veith; brother, Joe Boynton; sisters, Lee Fiscus and Jane Barrara; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren “Curly” L. Riggs; children, Roland Dean Riggs and Raymond Frank Riggs; sister, Margaret; grandsons, Zacheriah Riggs and Andrew James Fanning; and one great-grandson, Kayden Riggs.

A funeral service for Irene will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23, at the Urie Stake Center, with a viewing one hour prior. She will be laid to rest at the Riverview Cemetery in Green River.
