Delphine Krausz Gregg, 86, passed away in her home on Friday, Feb. 9. She was surrounded by two of her daughters, Diana Sharp and Deborah Goodspeed; and a grandson, Karl Miller; when she passed peacefully in her sleep.

Delphine was born Nov. 3,1937, the youngest of five daughters born to Edward and Elizabeth (Schuetzle) Krausz of Plevna, Montana. Her grandmother, Johanna Krausz, who had the first hospital in Baker, Montana, in her home, assisted with her birth.

She lived through the era of going to school by horse, no electricity, drought, the dust bowl, the Great Depression, World War II, rationing and hard work. Delphine worked many different jobs in her lifetime. She retired at the age of 84, after being employed by Walmart for more than 20 years.

Delphine spent her life doing what she loved. She was always caring for other people in one way or another. She enjoyed rockhounding and jewelry making. She loved her free time with her daughters and grandchildren.

Delphine is survived by her daughters, Debie Goodspeed and Diana Sharp of Evanston; sons, Dalbert Wiseman and Philip Geib; and grandchildren, Karl Miller and Chase Goodspeed. She leaves numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a big thank-you to Delphine’s nieces, Linda Wenz Holden and Diane Rittgers, who were very helpful during this difficult time. The family also wants to thank the great staff they worked with from Best Home Health & Hospice for helping make the last of her time here more meaningful and comfortable.

A celebration of life will be planned for spring/summer 2024 in Evanston. A lot of people loved Delphine, so if you would like to be a part of that celebration, please email greggdelphine@gmail.com, and the family will respond once details are decided.
