Carol Jean (Jeannie) Lester Lange, 73, passed away surrounded by her dear family Thursday, Jan. 27, in Evanston.
Jeannie was born in Evanston on Dec. 15, 1948, to William Henry Lester and Ida Vina Cook Lester. Later, they moved to Bluffdale, Utah, where she attended school in Riverton and Bingham. In the summers, she lived with her family in the pole patch in the High Uintas. She was Miss Bluffdale in 1964.
She married the love of her life, (Ivan) Keith Lange, Dec. 27, 1969. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Nov. 26, 1986. They lived in Riverton, Wyoming, where they raised their children. They moved to Evanston in 2007. Jeannie was by Keith’s side for 52 years.
Many different jobs were held by Jeannie. She enjoyed working as a waitress, cosmetologist and instructor of Wyoming Beauty College, bus driver, senior bus driver, Linton’s Big R farm and ranch store, and team truck driver with Keith from coast to coast.
She enjoyed gardening, raising animals, and serving and loving everyone she knew. Her most joyous jobs were her church callings. Time spent serving at Rock Creek honoring the pioneers was her most cherished service.
The greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her husband, Keith; son, Jody (Debbie) Lange; daughter, Brenda (Dennis) Crump; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Lester; and sisters, Ida Marie Hatch, Linda Christenson and Connie Wonnacott.
