Carl Martin Johnson, of Bear River, died Friday, Jan. 10, in Salt Lake City, from complications of a brain aneurysm.
Carl was born May 20, 1954, in Payson, Utah, to Willis Heber and Norma Matilda Hanks Johnson of Spanish Fork, Utah, the youngest of six children.
Carl was compassionate and tender, with a side of mischievous playfulness. He was very proud of his Icelandic ancestry and enjoyed telling about his family history. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, creating lifelong friendships wherever he went.
He always had a deep testimony of and profound love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. A grand welcome was surely had on the other side. We’ll miss you!
He is preceded in death by his mother; father; brother, Merrill; and wife, Donna.
He is survived by sisters: Rhea Jean (Darnell) Hancock of Spanish Fork, Utah; Aleen Lamb of Lexington, Oklahoma; Janiel Orton of Salem, Utah; and Verna Dallin of Springville Utah; children: Jamie D. Johnson of Evanston; Trevor Sean (Angela) Johnson of Greeley, Colorado; Timothy Logan Johnson of Roy, Utah; Brianne (Henry) Schnitker of Union Star, Missouri; Heidi Marie (Denee) Rex of Woodruff, Utah; Ashley Marie (Danny) Hall of Cedar City, Utah; Lynde May Childs of Evanston; and BeauDee Lynn Johnson of Evanston; 27 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
