Billy Gene Francis, 82, of Hudson, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 23. No services are scheduled at this time.
Billy was born on March 21, 1942, in Carnegie, Oklahoma, to William C. and Viola (Barbee) Francis. He attended school in Carnegie before beginning his career and life journey.
On July 25, 1987, Billy married Loa Carpenter in Evanston, and they shared 37 wonderful years together.
Mr. Francis served in the United States Air Force as well as the United States Navy.
Throughout his career, Billy worked for various gas plants, which took him to many different locations, including Seattle, Washington; Larose, Louisiana; Evanston; Sulphur, Oklahoma; Moorcroft; Craig, Colorado; Moab, Utah; Driggs, Idaho; Dubois; and Hurst, Texas.
Billy had a deep love for the outdoors and the mountains. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, and later found joy in leatherworking, reading and working on puzzles.
He is survived by his loving wife, Loa Francis of Hudson; sons, Michael Madearis, Billy Christopher Francis, and Jimmy Aaron Lee; daughters, Cori Elaina Moore and Heather Marie Rowland; sister, Betty Jo Francis; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Viola Francis; and his brother, Charles Duane Francis.
