EVANSTON — The 2017 Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) softball tournament held Friday through Sunday evening, hosted 36 teams who competed for top honors in several divisions.
There were 15 teams from Wyoming and a total of 21 teams from Utah.
Big Al’s team from Ogden, Utah, won the women’s division and Cleats & Cleavage from Ogden, Utah, was second.
In the mens’ A division, Banquets & Bombs from Ogden, Utah, won the division and Just Gonna Send It from Ogden was second.
The mens’ B division was won by Country Home Mortgage from Rock Springs and 307 from Evanston was second place.
The co-ed A division was won by YAY Sports from Ogden, Utah and Lincoln Highway Tavern from Evanston was second place.
The co-ed B division was won by Big Al’s and Alliance Drilling Tools from Evanston was in second place.
In all, there were five women’s teams and 14 men’s teams and 17 co-ed teams.
The Evanston High School girls’ basketball team kept the scorebooks and ran the scoreboard as part of their fundraising efforts for the 2017-18 season.
