Trona Valley parking discussed at city council work session

Posted 2/24/23

During the work session of the city council held on Tuesday, Feb. 14, Public Works Director Gordon Robinson provided follow-up information on the Trona Valley Community Federal Credit Union parking question raised at the Jan. 24 city council meeting.

Trona Valley Branch Manager ShanDee Welling had attended the January meeting to request permission from the council to put up a sign on their building reserving the two spaces on Center Street next to their building. She said a neighbor from across the street parks there consistently and leaves no room for any other car. They have asked the person to leave that space for their employees and he refuses to park anywhere else. Welling said she is concerned for the safety of her employees who work late at night as the security door they use at night is next to those parking spaces. Welling wondered, since the curb is indented, if those parking spaces could be on their property line anyway.
