Under direction of teacher Susan Anderson, the Evanston High School Horticulture class revegetated the patio area outside of the high school cafeteria before school let out. The junior and senior horticulture classes applied for and received a $1,000 community enhancement grant from the Uinta County Conservation District. Students designed a perennial landscape for the design of the cafeteria patio that would fit for Evanston’s climate. They then voted on one design. Senior Sandy Sanchez created the winning design. Students ordered plants and material, then got a day to install the new design. (COURTESY PHOTO)
