The Evanston High School boys’ basketball team has struggled to a 1-3 record in its last four games, though the Red Devils’ record during that stretch could just as easily be 3-1.

Evanston welcomed 4A Southwest Quadrant rival Star Valley to town Jan. 25, losing 68-55. The Red Devils traveled to Jackson on Jan. 27, picking up a big conference win against the Broncs, 64-51.

The Evanston High School boys’ basketball team has struggled to a 1-3 record in its last four games, though the Red Devils’ record during that stretch could just as easily be 3-1.

Evanston welcomed 4A Southwest Quadrant rival Star Valley to town Jan. 25, losing 68-55. The Red Devils traveled to Jackson on Jan. 27, picking up a big conference win against the Broncs, 64-51.

Evanston was back on the road over the weekend for another Southwest Quadrant game Friday, this time in Casper; the Red Devils fell to Kelly Walsh 49-39. Evanston stopped in Rock Springs on their way back to Evanston Saturday, taking the Tigers to overtime before losing 68-66.

The Red Devils are at home this weekend for a pair of 4A West Conference games, welcoming the Cody Broncs to town Friday, followed by Riverton Saturday.

Star Valley 68,

Red Devils 55

The Red Devils played Southwest Quadrant rival Star Valley for the first time this season Jan. 25, losing 68-55.

Cohen Morrow led the Red Devils with 13 points, to go along with four rebounds and two steals. Ryker Lind and Clayton Cook followed with 10 points apiece; Cook also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, while Lind hit on three of five 3-pointers. Luke Robinette added six points, Drew Barker chipped in five points and Kai Barker and Jay Hill finished with four points each. Jordan Mendez closed out the scoring with three points.

Red Devils 64,

Jackson 51

The Red Devils traveled to Jackson on Jan. 27, and, with three players scoring in double figures, picked up an important Southwest Quadrant win against the Broncs, 64-51.

Ryker Lind had the hot hand for the Red Devils, netting 17 points – including three 3-pointers – to lead the team. Clayton Cook finished with 12 points, to go along with four rebounds and three assists, while Cohen Morrow rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Kai Barker finished with eight points, followed by Jay Hill with six points, Drew Barker with four points and Luke Robinette and Jordan Mendez with three points apiece.

Kelly Walsh 49,

Red Devils 39

The Red Devils traveled to Casper Friday to take on Southwest Quadrant rival Kelly Walsh, and held a 19-16 lead at the break.

The Trojans went on a 14-4 run to open the second half, however, and Evanston was unable to make up the difference, falling 49-39. The Red Devils turned the ball over 21 times, compared to just 10 times for Kelly Walsh.

Clayton Cook paced the Red Devils with 12 points, to go along with seven rebounds and two assists. Ryker Lind finished with nine points, followed by seven points from Kai Barker and six points from Luke Robinette; Drew Barker rounded out the scoring with five points.

Rock Springs 68,

Red Devils 66 (OT)

Saturday’s game at Rock Springs was a nailbiter, with the Red Devils taking their hosts to overtime before falling 68-66.

Jordan Mendez led the Red Devils with 18 points, including a phenomenal 4-for-5 from behind the arc. Ryker Lind followed with 11 points – including three 3-pointers of his own – while Clayton Cook rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points.
