At this point in the season the Red Devils are improving with every game, both in their skills and their conditioning, and it’s showing.
In the previous week, the boys won their first conference game by beating Jackson and then on Thursday night they took on Kelly Walsh and the game ended in a 1-1 tie. They have been able to compete with just about any team in the 4A West.
Against Natrona, the Red Devils and Natrona kept up the pace throughout the first half but great defensive plays by both teams kept the score 0-0. Nick Kunz, and Kevin Najar showed their speed and it helped that Evanston is used to playing on grass rather than artificial turf like so many other teams. With the moisture lately, the field is pretty slow but that can work in Evanston’s favor.
The second half was much the same, scoreless with fast pace defense controlling the game. Then with just 30 seconds left in the game Natrona’s Regan Chadderton fought hard and kicked the ball quickly into the back of the goal, giving Natrona the win 1-0.

Boy’s vs Rock Springs

The Red Devils took the field against Rock Springs and it was going to be a battle. Seth Davis was doing a good job in the net protecting Evanston from the constant attacks by the Tigers. Then, with a little less than eight minutes in the first half, the Tigers turned up the aggressiveness and kicked the ball across the net Seth Davis was out of place and Jesus Chavarria hit a soft header into the net, scoring the first point for Rock Springs.
With 1:12 left in the first half, Kade Moeller tapped one in through Davis and within a few minutes, Rock Springs scored twice.
The Tigers didn’t waste too much time in the second half when with 34:09 left in the game the Tigers scored again. Chavarria scored again with less than 22 minutes in the game and the Red Devils were facing an almost insurmountable 4-0 lead by the Tigers.
The Red Devils had high hopes coming into the game with Rock Springs but came up short.
