In memory of and as a tribute to Nikolai and NovaRae John-Sanderson, please be open to receive this message. Wishing each of you a blessed holiday season.

As we move into the coldest part of winter, please take time to inspect your surroundings and educate your families to have an emergency preparedness plan. An emergency preparedness plan should include routes out of the home, where to meet in case of an emergency and how to contact authorities.

Make sure children can lock or unlock doors and windows from the inside and can safely get to the door or window in an emergency.

Each of us has a part to play in the safety of our loved ones and ourselves each day. Of everything our family’s biggest ask is that you take time to review potential fire hazard and safety plans with your families, especially young children.

Having open discussions in the family and “what would we do if...” scenarios could save countless lives each year.

We ask that you check your fire alarms, clear out dryer or furnace vents, keep space heaters away from other objects. Often the smallest things in life make the biggest impact. Remember to love and care for each other each day.
