EVANSTON — Many local residents and friends of former mayor and realtor Dennis Ottley visited Uinta Realty on March 1 to buy his newly published books. Ottley’s five book series, “Evanston: Boom-Bust-Politics,” is his personal account of Evanston from 1967 to 1995.
The books should prove to be popular, especially to locals who lived here during those tumultuous boom and bust years. Ottley was a city councilman, businessman and mayor during that time, and he shares a firsthand account of the politics in his writings.
Those who came to the book signing were treated to refreshments and an opportunity to stay and visit with Ottley, his family and friends. It was a chance to share stories of the past and present and buy signed copies of his books that could prove to be an exciting read.
