The EHS track and field teams were in Kaysville, Utah, Saturday for the Davis Invitational Saturday competing against some of the toughest the region has to offer, and turning in some of their best performances so far this season.

The Red Devils and Lady Devils combined to win three events, with 12 individual placers, making for an exciting day of competition.

The Lady Devils were led by Cassie Barker, who won the open 100 hurdles in a time of 15.85; the sophomore also finished eighth in the 300 hurdles, in a time of 48.82.

Brayden Wallace was the top finisher on the boys’ side, winning the open pole vault and clearing a height of 11 feet, 9 inches.

Other outstanding performances included a school record-breaking performance in the 400 meters by Ayden Hartzell, who broke the 48-second mark, finish second in the invited division with a time of 47.94; he also finished second in the invited 200 meters, posting a time of 21.55.

In the invited pole vault, Trayten Weidrich cleared 14 feet to finish second; he also finished seventh in the invited long jump, with a distance of 20 feet, 6.5 inches.

Other placers in the open division included Kiernynn Simmons in the discus (3rd, 99’.5”), Kynlee Robinette in the pole vault (3rd, 8’), Paul Baxter in the 1600 meters (5th, 4:24.70) and Jayden Rieker in the 200 meters (8th, 22.27).
