The Evanston High School soccer teams opened 4A West Conference play last week, traveling to Star Valley Thursday and hosting Jackson Friday at Kay Fackrell Stadium.
Lady Devils
The Lady Devils traveled to Afton Thursday to take on conference rival Star Valley, battling the Lady Braves to a 2-2 draw.
Star Valley’s Caitlin Anderson gave the home team a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 14th minute, but the Lady Devils brought the game back to even on a goal from Bella Leavitt.
Evanston took the lead in the 42nd minute when Lady Devil Bella Dover found the back of the net; Star Valley tied the game once again in the match’s 55th minute on a goal by Willow Aullman. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Friday, the Lady Devils hosted Jackson, losing to the Lady Broncs 6-0.
Red Devils
It was a rough conference opener for the Red Devils, as they fell to Star Valley Thursday in Afton, 3-0.
Back on their home pitch Friday, the Red Devils ran into a buzzsaw in the form of the No. 3 Jackson Broncs, losing 16-1; Jordan Mendez scored Evanston’s lone goal.
Both teams will look to right the ship Friday, when they welcome Rock Springs to Kay Fackrell Stadium.
