Does God do skywriting?

I remember watching an airplane doing skywriting when I was a young boy. Unfortunately, I don’t remember what the message said but I do remember craning my neck to watch.

Skywriting can be a great way to advertise and reach multitudes in just seconds and in today’s world skywriters use computers to set the pattern of flight and release the smoke.

Years ago, however, pilots had to be both good flyers and spellers. It would have been very regrettable to hire someone to write “I love you Mom” across the sky and end up with upside down M’s. Wow!

So again, the question is, does God do skywriting?

Exodus 31:18 says God, “…gave Moses two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.” Another time some religious leaders were trying to trap Jesus using that law. They brought a woman caught in the very act of adultery to test him to see if he would agree to her being stoned like the law says.

Scripture says Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger. He then raised himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” And again, “He stooped down and wrote on the ground.”

This is interesting because whatever Jesus said and wrote brought conviction to the consciences of these men, and they left one by one.

Once they were gone Jesus was alone with the woman standing in the midst and once again Jesus raised himself up, seeing only the woman, he said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more.” (See John 8:6-11 NKJV)

These are two instances of God writing on stone and then on the ground, so what about the sky?

It may be that on April 8, 2024, God will finish a seven-year writing project across the sky of America that will look like the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. On that day a full eclipse will cross the United States starting at the Texas border, then crossing mid-America and exiting through Maine. This will be the third eclipse in seven years crossing the nation in different directions.

The 2017 eclipse started at Oregon, then crossed the country and exited South Carolina. The 2023 eclipse entered Oregon and then exited Texas. If you draw the paths of these three eclipses on a map of the United States it looks like a huge Hebrew letter Aleph, which is the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet.

Drumroll please! The letter Aleph translated into Greek is the letter Alpha. Interestingly Jesus described Himself as “the Alpha and Omega” in Revelation 1:11. That brings us another interesting thing about these eclipses.

To write the letter Aleph in Hebrew you must also write the letter Tav. Tav is the last letter of their alphabet and looks like a cross. Tav translated into Greek is Omega which is the last letter in the Greek alphabet. Again, the question, is this God skywriting in slow motion using eclipses the name of his son Jesus in Greek over America?

Concerning the return of Jesus, He said there would be “…signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity…” (Luke 21:25) Is this a sign from God to America? Personally. I think it is worth paying attention to.
