The greater Bridger Valley has been unable to elect a representative to the board of county commissioners in the past two elections because we continue to split our votes between the good candidates from the two sides of Bridger Valley.
Consequently, Evanston area candidates prevail, due to their larger population base. As a result, the needs of the Bridger Valley don’t get the attention we have enjoyed in the past and would like.
Most of us (me included) simply complain and fail to attend the commissioner meetings held in Evanston to voice our concerns or suggestions. Commissioner meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of each month in the Uinta County courthouse.
I am wondering if one of those meetings could be held in Bridger Valley periodically, so Bridger Valley people could more easily voice their concerns. I am hoping one of the current commissioners or their secretary will reply to this inquiry.
The current commissioners are Chair Mark Anderson, Eric South and Brent Hatch; their emails are available on the county government website.
