The Evanston Civic Orchestra and Chorus will show a community service slideshow during the concert at the 6th Biennial Evanston Community Christmas Gala on Dec. 1, at Davis Middle School.
Organizers are requesting photos that answer the question, “What are you doing to be a light in the world?” The photos should be of community members from Evanston and the surrounding areas giving service or showing compassion, kindness, and caring during 2017.
They welcome submissions from individuals and families, church and school groups, nonprofit organizations, 4-H groups, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other similar clubs and organizations. The photos can be of spontaneous moments captured on a phone or of planned activities.
Organizers said that with so many wrong things filling the headlines these days, this slideshow will help to show what is still good and right in the world.
Send photos by Nov. 25, to EvanstonCivicOrchestra@gmail.com. Include contact name, date of photo, name of group or organization, and the activity shown.
Individual and family names will not be included in the slideshow for privacy and other reasons. Photos that do not fit the stated theme or that are in any way commercial, political, or inappropriate, will not be included. Those with questions can call Sara at (307) 789-2178.
