Buffalos, Lady Buffalos take third

MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Mountain View High School boys’ basketball team earned a third-place finish over the weekend at the Bridger Valley Tournament after claiming a 61-59 win against Big Piney on Saturday.

Braeden Walk scored a game-high 24 points, while Jason Stoddard added 11 and Briggin Bluemel finished with 10 to help lead the Buffalos (2-1) against Big Piney.

Mountain View opened tournament play with a 62-43 win over Cokeville, before suffering a 60-42 loss to Green River in the second round.

“I think we had a good weekend,” Mountain View coach Dustin Rees said. “I think going 2-1 and losing to a good Green River team, we can build off of everything we did this weekend. We were pretty happy.”

MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Mountain View High School girls’ basketball team earned a third-place finish over the weekend at the Bridger Valley Tournament after claiming a 69-25 win against Cokeville. 

The Lady Buffalos (2-1) placed four players in double figures in the win against Cokeville. Hailey Stephens poured in a game-high 16 points and Lyndee Hereford finished with 15. Ailee Bugas ad Charity Harmon both scored 10 points.

Mountain View opened tournament play with a 56-26 win against Farsen-Eden, before suffering a 53-45 loss to Green River in the second round.

“Overall, I was pleased with our first weekend out,” Mountain View coach Jessica Moretti said.

LYMAN — The Lyman High School boys’ basketball team went 1-2 over the weekend at the Bridger Valley Tournament.

“We lost our poise at times, and I think that’s mainly because we have a complete turnover in the program this year,” Lyman coach Kevin Lueck said. “Right now, we have to be a little bit more poised. Hopefully, the more minutes they see, the game is going to slow down in their minds.”
