EVANSTON — Investigator Brooke Hale was the recipient of the Uinta County Sheriff’s Office 2017 “Law Woman of the Year Award” from American Legion Post 41. Uinta County Sheriff Doug Matthews presented Hale with the award on Friday, Sept. 22.
Matthews said that he recommended Hale receive the award based primarily on her training and experience in forensics and conducting interviews with children. According to Matthews, Hale’s skills in these areas have been utilized by every department in Uinta County and by agencies outside of the county as well.
“She is very deserving of this award,” said Matthews, “because of her dedication, attitude and hard work.”
After she received the award and the praise from Matthews, Hale said, “I just appreciate the recognition very much. It’s a pleasure to work for the sheriff’s office.”
