The LDS 8th Ward in Evanston recently made and donated about 120 red hats to Evanston Regional Hospital for newborn babies in honor of American Heart Month. It was part of the national Little Hats Big Hearts project that raises awareness to inspire moms to take their family’s heart health to heart, while raising awareness about congenital heart defects. All the hats were knitted or crocheted by hand. Hospital officials said they very much appreciate the generosity and the time volunteers put into the project.
