The Evanston post office is out of order, at least for many services, and has been nearly all week long. Local postal worker Alan Burgess said Friday that the building’s internet and network has been down since about noon on Monday, causing much frustration for workers and customers.
Burgess said technicians have been unable to determine where the connection is broken, but AT&T personnel will be in Evanston Friday to hopefully find the problem and fix it. Because of the outage, local workers aren’t able to scan packages or print labels, though mail has been delivered as normal throughout the outage.
Burgess said the local postmaster is in Cheyenne on business and another manager has been training in Jackson this week, so the crew has been shorthanded all week.
Burgess said he hopes the technicians are able to resolve the issue on Friday.
