William Andrew Chappell III, age 62, passed away June 8, at Evanston Regional Hospital. Bill was born Oct. 8, 1962, in San Jose, California, a son of W. A. and Jesse L. Chappell.
Bill had many health problems the last several years of his life that left him home bound.
He moved to Evanston in the ’90s. His passion for nursing led him to get jobs at MRSI and Pioneer Counseling Services. He had compassion and was caring about his clients.
Bill enjoyed outside activities like fishing and camping. Bill loved music and singing, and he had a beautiful voice. He played the drums in his younger years, and you could hear him tapping out music on a table or any other object available.
He had a great sense of humor and was always joking around with his friends.
Bill is survived by his devoted companion, Rachel Ferguson. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Ashley; his sister, Lori Chappell; a granddaughter, Abbey; his nephew, Eric Oliveira and other relatives in California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William IV; an infant daughter, Alyssa; two sisters, Karen and Cindy; and a brother, Randy.
A celebration of life will be held at noon Sunday, Sept. 15, at Calvary Chapel, 211 Overthrust Rd., Evanston.
Friends are encouraged to gather at this time to share memories of a life well lived.
