Traci Myers passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 10, in her home.
She was born in Rock Springs. She was the youngest of six children born to Minnie Clementine (Whittecar) Anson and John Arthur Anson III.
She was a longtime resident of Rock Springs and, in her later years, lived in Evanston. She was a clerk at Rip’s gas station, where she loved spending time talking and getting to know the customers.
She had a lifelong love for dolphins and later found her love for monkeys. She spent a lot of her time watching monkey videos with her grandchildren. She would often start a new TV show or book but rarely finished them.
She was the kind of woman who could thrive in chaos with her free-spirited attitude. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life. Her favorite thing in the world was to spend time and spoil all fourteen of her grandchildren, whom she cherished greatly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Minnie Anson; brother, Michael Anson; and sister, Valen Myers.
She is survived by her brothers, John Timothy Anson, Jim (Pam) Anson and Scott (Rachel) Anson — all of Green River; her children, Derik (Ashley) Myers of Martin, Tennessee, Hannah (Cory) Norton of Payson, Utah, Desirae (Matt) Jenkins of Evanston, and Destiny Bowlin of Rock Springs; her grandchildren, Hailee Myers, Teegan Myers, Liam Myers, Brynleigh Myers, Ethan Norton, Lucas Norton, Oliver Norton, Gaven Norton, Elleena Jenkins, Lenora Jenkins, Syanna Jenkins, Rylee Myers, Serenity West and Cooper West. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of life on a later date.
