I would like to thank the Uinta County senior citizens center for the outstanding service that they provide for the seniors and others in our community. The center provides meals and activities for the city’s seniors including three pool tables with tournaments with Bridger Valley and Kemmerer seniors.
There’s a workout room with a treadmill and other equipment. There’s bingo and old maid and other activities in the meal room. They provide a shuttle service for disabled citizens that otherwise have no other way to go shopping or see the doctor or visit the center.
The staff is very professional, including the manager, activities director, the transportation director, the kitchen staff — which provides excellent food with a great variety — and the dishwasher.
There is also a great lady who donates her time and energy to help out with the kitchen workload. The board of directors is doing a really good job of keeping things running smoothly.
I would also personally like to thank Smith’s Food and Drug, which donates food that is close to the expiration date to provide once-a-week free food to the people at the center.
I hope I didn’t forget anyone involved with this outstanding service to our community. To the best of my knowledge this facility is operated exclusively from donations, not taxes. Anyway, thanks to all!
