The Uinta County Veterans will host the second annual Patriot 5K Color Run/Walk from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, at the Bear River State Park welcome center in Evanston.
The event will raise funds for a first-of-its-kind Veterans Gulf Monument in Evanston. Anyone is welcome to participate — it doesn’t matter whether they run, walk, crawl, skip, jump or hop through the course.
Tickets and T-shirts can be purchased online or on the day of the event, but preregistration is encouraged to ensure availability. The price doubles the day of the event, and event items will be limited to first-come-first served. Refunds are available up until the day of the event.
Leashed animals are permitted as long as owners assume responsibility for them and adhere to state park rules and regulations. No bicycles, skateboards or skates are allowed; strollers are permitted, but there may be water, mud and rocks on the dirt trail.
Registration is open on www.eventbrite.com (search for Patriot 5k Color Run/Walk 2017). For more information, email ucveteransboard@gmail.com or call Tiffany Pieger at (307) 679-1252.
