Paul H. Burton (Nov. 17, 1934 – Nov. 6, 2018) passed away last Tuesday after a gallant fight at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene Burton; children, Paul Burton (Nancy); Lisa Lee, Tom Burton, Lennis Burton, Loura Flick (Mike), Cindy Clark, Jeff and Randy Baker; as well as nieces, nephews, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Paul served in the Army, was a Korean War veteran, and retired from Hill Air Force Base. He was born and raised in Ogden, Utah, where he married Lennis Jo Dye Burton and raised their family in Sunset, Utah. They later divorced.

After retirement, Paul moved to Bear River, with the love of his life Lorene. Despite the distance, he maintained numerous lifelong friendships. He loved his home and raising animals as well as all of his local friends in Wyoming.

He loved fishing, hunting, John Wayne, Scotch, betting on the horses, camping with his wife, his dogs, friends and family. He was also a lifetime avid Redskins fan. He liked people and people liked him. Once he met a person he liked, they were never again strangers. He loved to cook and entertain and tell stories; he’d say anything to make people laugh.

His grandkids and great-grandkids loved hearing him talk about his life growing up, and they marveled as time went on because the fish got bigger and the tales got taller. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City, for the wonderful care and kindness they showed him during the last weeks of his life.

Graveside services will be held at noon on Monday, Nov. 19, at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th St., Ogden, Utah. A celebration of life will follow at his daughter Lisa Lee’s home.
