EVANSTON — The 2018 Pony Express re-ride is scheduled for June 25, across Uinta County. But applications are due in less than a month, by April 2.
Participants will receive mail from Utah at 7:30 a.m. at the Wyoming/Utah border. Participants will not only be giving their horses something to do, they’ll be reliving history.
Riders must be at least 14 years old to participate, and they must be able to gallop or lope their horse for two miles before passing mail on to the next rider. Organizers will try to help those with limitations.
Applications are available at Rip’s Grocery, 98 County Rd. in Evanston. Those with questions may call Ron Atkinson at (307) 789-3854.
