EVANSTON — The Evanston Chamber of Commerce will host its Legislative Breakfast on Thursday, Jan. 18, downstairs at the Legal Tender Restaurant. The breakfast provides local residents an opportunity to interact and listen in on “State of the City” addresses given by Evanston and Bear River mayors and city council members.
The breakfast is the first of multiple events planned for the 2018 election season. An evening Legislative Session Report is scheduled for March 29. Candidate forums are already scheduled for the summer months.
On June 21, candidates for United States Congress and Wyoming state offices will be invited to participate in a public forum. A forum, on July 12, will include candidates for Uinta County offices and another, on July 19, will provide an opportunity to hear from candidates for Evanston and Bear River offices.
A final forum for general election candidates will be held on Oct. 11. All events besides the breakfast will be held at the Portland Rose Room at Evanston’s Roundhouse and will include an hour of meet and greet time followed by a two-hour forum.
The Legislative Breakfast will begin with a breakfast buffet starting at 7 a.m., followed by the program starting at 7:30 a.m. Both mayors and all council members have been invited to participate and register for the event with the Chamber in advance.
Area residents wishing to attend the event are asked to RSVP with the Chamber by Monday, Jan. 15. The cost of the breakfast is $12 per person if registered prior to Jan. 15, and $15 per person for those who register later.
