Elaine Condos Williams passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the age of 87. Elaine was born on Dec. 27, 1931, in Carter, to John Condos and Mildred Lee.

Elaine spent her youth in Castle Rock, Utah, with her grandparents, and later in Evanston, where she met Joseph Dale Williams, the love of her life. Joe and Elaine married on Dec. 30, 1946, at the LDS bishop’s home in Coalville, Utah. They celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2016. They called Evanston home until 1972, when they relocated to Cheyenne.

Elaine worked many jobs, including switchboard operator for Mountain Bell, dispatcher for the Wyoming Highway Patrol, and after successfully raising three children and many grandchildren, she went back to work at both Bain Elementary School and East High School part-time to serve lunch.

As a proud Wyoming native, she loved the outdoors, especially camping. She enjoyed many trips throughout the state to favorite destinations like Rob Roy, New Fork BSA camp, and Allred Flats.

Elaine is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe; her parents; brother, Bill Condos; sisters, Rhea Condos-Cox and Louise Condos Roath; and daughter, Jo Ann Ray.

She is survived by her sister, Veda Condos Staley; son, Dale Wesley Williams; daughter and caregiver, Kathy Williams-Meyers; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and loving extended family.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, at Crandall Funeral Home, 800 Uinta St. in Evanston. Viewing will be one hour prior to the funeral.

Interment will be in the Evanston City Cemetery.
