The final forum to give voters an opportunity to hear from candidates prior to the Nov. 6 general election will be a school board candidate forum at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, at the Educational Service Center at 537 10th St.
The forum will allow each of the 11 candidates for the five open seats time for an opening and closing statement, as well as time to answer questions asked by a moderator and submitted by the public and district employees
Questions can be submitted online through a link found on the district’s Facebook page, and will then be vetted by a committee comprised of Evanston Education Association leadership, community members and district employees.
The meeting will also be live-streamed online and recorded for those unable to attend in person. The forum is scheduled to last 90 minutes. Current board members Jenny Welling and chair Cassie Torres are running for re-election, while Kim Bateman, Josh Welling and Kerby Barker will all be leaving the board.
