David Louis Hensley, 64, of Cody, lost his battle to appendix cancer on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
He was born to Jack and Jacquin (Jackie) Hensley Feb. 27, 1954, in Cody. Dave enjoyed the outdoors, camping and reading. He was an electrician by trade. Even though he retired he was always expanding his knowledge in his craft. He was a man of few words but he always fit in any crowd. We will remember his big smile and infectious laugh.
He is preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother; friend and devoted wife, Myra Hensley; son, Ryan Hensley of Portland, Oregon; daughter, Kristi (Jeffery) Hensley-Scott of Eugene, Oregon; stepson, Spencer (Christine) Goettsch of Columbia Falls, Montana; sisters, Susan Hensley, of Evanston, Rita (Randy) Kunkel of Billings, Montana, and Terri Hensley of Shephard, Montana; grandchildren, Isla and Evangeline Hensley-Scott, Wyatt and Avery Goettsch; mother- and father-in-law, Mary Alice and Ed Pace; sister-in-law, Denise (Terry) Baird; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Maudie) Goettsch and Michael (Ronda) Goettsch, all of Washington; six nephews, four nieces, six great-nephews and six great-nieces.
Cremation services are with Ballard Funeral Home.
