Benjamin “Benji” Cody Rhodes, 25, of Evanston, died unexpectedly on March 24. He was born Jan. 20, 1993, in Ogden, Utah, the son of William Rhodes and Lori Zocco. He grew up and attended school from 1998-2010 in Evanston. At the time of his death, he was living and working as a painter in Nampa, Idaho.

Benji enjoyed doing so many things. He was a hard-working, creative house painter by day, and couldn’t wait to fish in his free time, whether it be at a river or the lake. Benji loved riding his dirt bike when he was younger, and his bullet bike since then. He was constantly working on his prized possession, a Honda Civic, which he was also racing.

Benji was a caring, loving, generous son, brother, uncle and friend who was always there to help and support family and friends whenever they needed him.

Benji is survived by his parents, William Rhodes and Lori Zocco; his brothers, Adam and Zachary; his sisters, Ayla, Ashlynn and Alexis; his half-sister, Bridget (Briana, Zaden); and his girlfriend, Ali Thomas. He also leaves behind his nephew and best little buddy, Kross; aunts; uncles and numerous cousins.

Benji was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Peter and Marie Zocco; his paternal grandparents, Woodrow and Ruby Rhodes; and his sister, Chelsea.

A memorial service will be held from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Evanston Machine Shop, on Saturday, April 14. Benji’s family invites you to celebrate his life and take part in a luncheon after the ceremony.
