Evanston, Wyoming

November 20, 2020

Pursuant to Wyoming State Statute 16-4-404(d), the Uinta County Commissioners met in emergency session on November 20, 2020 in the commission chambers, 225 9th Street, Evanston, Wyoming and via an online Zoom Meeting.  Chairman Eric South convened meeting at approximately 8:00 a.m. Commissioner Craig Welling and Commissioner Mark Anderson were present.  Also present: Amanda Hutchinson, County Clerk; Terry Brimhall, Treasurer; Loretta Howieson, Attorney; and Kerri Wright, Clerk of Court.

County Health Orders – Public Health Order 2020-02

Dr. Adams discussed the reason for the mask mandate and explained that the reason for acting quickly was the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Uinta County.  He expressed his concern that with the high number of hospital admissions in Utah may mean a shortage of ICU beds and that we will be unable to transfer patients to the Wasatch Front. The Commissioners expressed their disappointment that they were not consulted or informed of the mandate being issued and requested data to back up any mandate decision that affects Uinta County.  Several people voiced their opinions, opposition, and concerns about the mandate.

Meeting adjourned at 9:30 a.m.

Eric South, Chairman

BOARD OF UINTA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
