EVANSTON — The new head coach for Evanston High School swimming and diving is expected to be announced on Monday.
The search for a new coach for the program began after longtime head coach Casey Boyle’s coaching addendum was not renewed for the 2014-15 season. The decision was made in early June. Swimming specialist assistant coach Pam Christensen’s addendum also was not renewed.
Four of the five candidates for the head-coaching position were interviewed on July 1 and 2. The fifth candidate needed to reschedule due to personal reasons and will be interviewed on Monday, July 7.
Ryan Thomas, superintendent for operations, said he plans to release the decision following the final interview on July 7 after first informing all of the candidates.
“We have five really outstanding candidates,” Thomas said. “A couple of them are very experienced divers. We’re just really pleased with the interviews.”
Parents of EHS swimmers and divers Judith Tethal and Nate Sponenburgh both served on the selection committee for the hiring process.
