James Lee Crunk, 73, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013, in Abilene, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Texas State Veterans Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6- 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
James was born June 1, 1940 to Ervin Crunk and Martha Yabro Crunk in Denton County, Texas. He married Marcene in 1970. James loved to travel and tinker and work with his hands. He worked for Intermountain Safety Company and Elkhorn Construction in Evanston, throughout the Rocky Mountains and worldwide as a Safety Supervisor during the 1980s and 1990s.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marcene Crunk.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Rushing and wife Faye of Denver, Colo., and Jason Crunk and wife Michelle of Abilene, Texas; daughter, LaNita Bossier of Abilene, Texas; a brother, G.W. Crunk and wife Peggy of the Dallas area, Texas; grandchildren, Nathan Gray, Marcus Jimenez, Natalie Bossier, Marcie McKelvey and husband, Michael, Tonya Lyons, Nicole Lyons, Chris Lyons, Angela Lyons; and great-grandchildren, Michael and Thomas McKelvey, Isabella Dumler, and Loraine Lyons.
