Nellie Mae Moore passed away on September 12, 2013, in Vernal, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. Nellie was born on May 9, 1921, in Olanta, South Carolina to Samuel and Francis Thornhill.
Nellie met and married Marvin Moore in Evanston where they began their family before moving to the Uintah Basin in 1960, where they lived and raised their children.
Nellie and Marvin returned to Wyoming in 1980, where Nellie has always considered home.
Nellie spent her time raising her five children and caring for their home. She loved family gatherings, camping and following her Wyoming Cowboys football and basketball teams.
Nellie is survived by a son, Dick (Connie) Moore, and daughters Carolee (Darwin) Erickson, Sandi (Rick) Fladeland, Delsi (John) McKeachnie all of Vernal, Utah and Wendy (Jerry) Niederriter of Wapiti, Wis.; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Nellie was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Marvin Moore, parents Samual and Francis Thornill, brothers Donald Thornhill and Dee Thornill, grandson Ricky Moore and granddaughter, MarShel Erickson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home, 410 North 800 W., Vernal, Utah. A viewing was held Tuesday 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial was on Wednesday, Sept. 18, in the Evanston Cemetery at noon under the direction of Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
