ROCK SPRINGS — A Lyman man was among a quartet of suspects apprehended by the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Department and the Lyman Police Department Aug. 9 on a variety of charges.

Scott Paul Triplett, 44, of Lyman, was arrested by officers of the Lyman Police Department, charged with wrongful taking or disposing of property, a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 10 years, a $10,000 fine, or both.

Triplett’s charges stem from a 2009 theft of a forklift and over $100,000 worth of copper wire and Okonite cable from FMC. Sweetwater County Sheriff Rich Haskell said county detectives filed the charges against Triplett on July 25.

In addition to Triplett’s arrest, two fugitives wanted in Sweetwater County have been arrested in North Dakota, and another man, wanted for violating his probation, was apprehended after a foot chase in Rock Springs.
