EVANSTON — A special “Day at the Bear” event is slated for this Saturday, July 27, beginning at 11 a.m. at the Bear River Greenway. The event, which runs until 4 p.m., is sponsored by, and is a fundraiser for, the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway Board.
The event kicks off with entertainment by the Saddle Strings Cowboy Band, offering their special blend of country music, along with cowboy poets and other fun entertainment.
Patrons can also enjoy lunch, as the board will be providing hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, chips and drinks for only $5.
In addition to arts and crafts booths, an exciting silent auction will feature a vast array of unique items, including a turquoise and silver Navajo belt buckle, an authentic Chinese inlaid screen, a crystal candelabra, a Dutch oven set and much, more.
A raffle will also be held, and tickets are available from Serendipity, Jody’s Diner, Rip’s Grocery and the Evanston Chamber of Commerce.
