EVANSTON — The “Trailer Park Troubadour” is coming back to Evanston. Jalan Crossland, an extraordinary homegrown talent from Ten Sleep, will bring his band to Depot Square for a free concert sponsored by the Urban Renewal Agency and Main Street on July 26.

Crossland is a topnotch Wyoming musical artist whose shows are lively, energetic and musically astounding. Crossland and his band recently appeared in the WYOAmericana Tour, a 14-date swing through the rural American west. Also on the tour were Screen Door Porch and J Shogren Shangghai’d. The tour became a nationally-known event when a story about Crossland and the tour ran in the New York Times.

Crossland is a six-string banjo and guitar player with dazzling speed and accuracy, and is left-handed, as well. Crossland has released five albums, all filled with songs of odd events and tragedies of epic proportions, such as “Trailer Park Fire” and “Big Horn Mountain Blues.”

The concert is set to begin at 6:30 p.m., and is open to the public. Picnic baskets and refreshments are allowed. A blanket or lawn chair is also recommended to enjoy the show.
